Best Time to Come to Hoi An

December delivers cool breezes to Hoi An, making it perfect for exploring town although the most pleasant temperatures are between February and April. Rainfall is also low, making these months a great time to visit. If you are a beach lover then make your trip a little later towards the beginning of June when long hot sunny days are guaranteed.

Monsoon conditions also influence the weather in Hoi An with heavy rains starting in September and ending sometime in January. Hoi An is best avoided during the rainy months, especially in October and November when flooding is usually a problem. The areas close to the waterfront can experience severe conditions during this time.

Seasons Hoi An is a city that is dominated by a wet (monsoon) season and a dry season with little in between. The dry season from February through to May brings lots of mild warm weather coupled with low humidity, this is therefore a time of peak tourism in Hoi An so it might be worth booking ahead for your trip. Things get gradually hotter with temperatures hitting 38°C in July, building up to a season change in September. The annual monsoon brings plenty of rain to the area with constant showers guaranteed pretty much every day from September to January. Flooding is normal during this time with heavy rain hitting in October, typhoons are also not considered unusual during the monsoon season. As the rain starts to ease and temperatures cool down to between 19°C and 24°C in December, this makes for a nice visit with fewer tourists around, although you may need to bring a light jacket for the cooler evenings.
